Never before have our products been as comprehensively controlled as today, irrespective of whether they contain meat or not.
In our in-house laboratory, which is by no means a matter of course for a company of our size, we conducted more than 51,000 tests in 2016, mainly microbiological tests. Particularly for sensitive raw sausage products such as Rügenwalder Teewurst and the Mett (raw minced pork), each batch is tested before it is released for delivery.
Our in-house laboratory provides an additional measure of safety.
In addition to our own auditors, external institutes regularly examine the goods: the Institute for Food Quality LUFA North-West produced exactly 10,847 test results in 2016, the renowned SGS INSTITUTE FRESENIUS delivered almost 12,972 analysis results. The tests also include raw materials and packaging materials, as well as products on the market; and, on top, testing of raw materials and preliminary stages for meat products. For many years now, we have been meeting the high quality standards established by regular audits according to the IFS Food Standard and BRC - British Retail Consortium - including the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) concept - as well as the requirements of the QA test seal. In addition, we have a certified energy management according to DIN ISO 50001 and are certified for organic products according to the EC eco-regulation (DE-ÖKO-006).
